The ecomuseum was established precisely with the aim of preserving and promoting the heritage of these borderlands, where nature and history coexist in a unique way.

The museum tour includes an exhibition hall dedicated to aspects of traditional Alpine life, but also extends outdoors via a picturesque route through the village. Walking amongst the ancient houses of Moncenisio, you can see the communal oven, the wash house, the mill and the characteristic sundials painted on the facades of the huts, precious testimonies to the local mountain culture.

Particularly interesting is the section dedicated to the historic Fell railway, which is brought to life through information panels situated near Lake Moncenisio. This innovative 19th-century railway line connected Susa to Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne by crossing the Alpine pass, representing an extraordinary feat of engineering for its time.

The Terre al Confine Ecomuseum thus offers an authentic journey into the history of the Western Alps, exploring traditions, rural architecture and the stories of the people who have lived in and travelled through these high-mountain landscapes for centuries.

Discover the Terre al Confine Ecomuseum in Moncenisio: a journey through the history and Alpine traditions of the Val Cenischia and the Moncenisio Pass.

[50822
76181,76187
28444
post-310089","what-to-see","type-what-to-see","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","village-conntection-moncenisio-it","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-piedmont","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-turin","what-to-see-category-museum
["GET
