built before 1496 and enlarged at the beginning of the XVI century, the Chapel of Notre Dame of Coignet preserves the facade and inside frescoes made by three different frescanti between the end of the XV century and the third decade of the sixteenth century. Externally, on the facade, there are an Annunciation, a great Saint Christopher and a holy identified with Sant’Antonio abate or San Gerolamo, assigned by the critics to an anonymous frescante active around the third decade of the sixteenth century at the chapel of Horres to Millaures and at that of S. Sebastiano to Plampinet.<\/p>\n
The frescoes of the interior were made in 1496, commissioned by such a Jean Guy, by a painter probably linked to the atelier of pinerolesi Serra but equipped with autonomous personality, also active at the chapel of Sant’Andrea di Ramats in Chiomonte, the chapel of the Annunciation of the Oulme Salbertrand and in the parish church of Rochemolles.<\/p>\n
This frescante are attributed the scenes of the apse wall, depicting the Piet\u00e0, the Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth and San Grato, in addition to the scene of the martyrdom of Saint Agatha placed on the west wall. It is supplemented a more modest aid that in the era coeval with respect to its activity, realized the scenes dedicated to the life of the Virgin placed on walls west and east and the figure of the Christ of pain located in sguancio of the window.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
