{"id":309707,"date":"2024-08-09T21:42:58","date_gmt":"2024-08-09T19:42:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.e-borghi.com\/what-to-see\/castagneto-carducci-carducci-archive-museum-2\/"},"modified":"2024-09-15T23:50:17","modified_gmt":"2024-09-15T21:50:17","slug":"castagneto-carducci-carducci-archive-museum","status":"publish","type":"what-to-see","link":"https:\/\/www.e-borghi.com\/en\/what-to-see\/castagneto-carducci-carducci-archive-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"Giosu\u00e8 Carducci Archive Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cthat tract of the Maremma that goes from Cecina in San Vincenzo, is the circle of my childhood\u2026 I lived here, or better to say, wondered, from 1838 to April 1849\u201d<\/em><br \/>Giosue Carducci, <em>Letters <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0rooms that currently hosts the Carducci Archive Museum, were part of the complex that until 1838 was The Ancient Pretorian Palace, which later became the current Town Hall. the building at that time was used in part to Palazzo Pretorio, in part a civil habitation and on the ground floor, exactly in today&#8217;s spaces of the <span>Carducci Archive Museum<\/span>, there are the three shops of Corsiglia: a shoe making, a pharmacy and a bazaar of various kinds.<\/p>\n<p>The poet himself was usually attend these premises when in 1846, affected by malaria, on the advice of Father Michael, was hosted by the family of Dr Benedict Bernieri for a healthy stay on top of a hill. Gi\u00e0 from child the small Giosu\u00e8 he enjoyed in short poems stating precisely in the artisan workshops of the village.<\/p>\n<p>The panels exposed in the Museum carducciano retrace the most significant moments of the literary activities of the Poet, closely linked to scents, sounds and atmospheres of the Maremma Pisana, theater of his youth experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Giosu\u00e8 Carducci, in fact, spend a part of their childhood in Castagneto and Bolgheri and the evocative power of this reality is a constant in his poetic production.<\/p>\n<p><em>free entry<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Winter Timetable (generally from 16\/09 to 14\/09): <br \/>from Tuesday to Friday 10-13, Saturday and Sunday 15-18.<br \/>Summer schedule (generally from 15\/06 to 15\/09): <br \/>daily except Monday 10-13 and 16:30-19:30.<\/p>\n<p>The Association reserves the right to modify the opening hours depending on internal needs.
