The interior’s current appearance is also the result of alterations made following the Second Vatican Council, when elements such as the balustrade, the pulpit, the wooden choir and the side altars were removed, making the space more minimalist and functional.

Despite these changes, the church still houses several works of great artistic value. Among these, the painting of the Madonna delle Grazie stands out, originating from a small votive chapel situated behind the town hall. The work, attributed to the Venetian school, is now situated to the right of the high altar and commemorates the vow of thanksgiving made by Captain Tebaldo Cumano, who miraculously survived an ambush.

Also of particular interest is a 17th-century reproduction of Barocci’s Last Supper, alongside other important paintings attributed to the Pesaro-born painter Lazzarini. Among the objects most revered by the community is a crucifix, which has been at the centre of popular devotion for centuries.

Finally, the church houses a precious organ, considered a small musical gem with around 500 pipes. Dating from the 18th to the 19th century and recently restored, it is now recognised as a cultural asset of the Marche region.

Discover the Church of San Silvestro in Monte Grimano Terme, a neoclassical building housing paintings from the Venetian school, a venerated crucifix and a precious historic organ.

[50835
76172,76177
30159
post-309677","what-to-see","type-what-to-see","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","village-conntection-monte-grimano-terme-it","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-marche-en","what-to-see-region-and-provinces-pesaro-urbino-en","what-to-see-category-place-of-cult
["GET
