The the Geological and Landslides Museum of Civita di Bagnoregio illustrates the processes of instability in act, the works of monitoring and stabilization, the historical landslides, the history and the fight of Civita for its survival. The exhibition path is divided into 4 meeting rooms:<\/p>\n
Landslides<\/strong>: Civita di Bagnoregio and living landscape of the valley of the gullies. The evolution of the territory is particularly evident along the morphological saddle of access to Civita, that from 1764 to today has suffered a drop of about 40 meters.<\/p>\n Fossils<\/strong>: The geological history and the marine fossils of\u2019area between Bagnoregio and the valley of the Tiber.\u00a0The territory of Bagnoregio is characterized by sandy loams of marine origin of Lower Pleistocene covered by volcanic deposits of the volcanic district Vulsino.<\/p>\n History:<\/strong>\u00a0Historical evolution of Civita. From the XV century to today have been documented 134 landslides in detail described in manuscripts, chronicles, documents and various publications: comparison of these documents show a progressive reduction of the inhabited center, due to the occurrence of landslide events along the perimeter of the cliff. San Bonaventura<\/strong>\u00a0is the character pi\u00f9 illustrious city, has made famous the name of Civita throughout Europe.
