In the municipally owned area, between the municipal headquarters and the “E. Fermi” middle school, there are structures dating from the Archaic to the Roman imperial age.
\nWithin the Salvatore Pasculli Archaeological Area, named after Eng. Salvatore Pasculli, a lover of ancient history and the prematurely deceased first-born son of the Pasculli family who, in his memory, promoted and financed its restoration and enhancement, two tombs have been found adjacent to a kiln, while other tombs testify to how the area was used as a necropolis. The grave goods found within the tombs are now housed within the Messapian documentation center.<\/p>\n
In the area there is a road axis, an ancient canal embankment, an aqueduct, septa of walls and dwellings that characterize the surrounding area, a true cross-section of life that amazes and excites.<\/p>\n
