Its original layout, typical of the Apulian Romanesque style, blends harmoniously with the bell tower, which was rebuilt in the Baroque style following its collapse in 1772.<\/p>\n<p>The basilica has a Latin cross plan with three naves, divided by columns of different styles, and a well-defined transept. Over the centuries, the structure has undergone numerous alterations, so that today only a few traces of the original medieval layout remain.<\/p>\n<p>The chancel is dominated by a large canvas from 1779 by Luigi Velpi depicting the Expulsion of the Merchants from the Temple.
