The small agro-pastoral center on the borders of Sarcidano with Trexenta is part of the authentic villages of Italy thanks to nature, culture, archeology and culinary delicacies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Serri, in southern Sardinia, is a small village immersed in a splendid scenery that contains architectural and archaeological treasures, including a famous Nuragic sanctuary.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":198644,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"the-village":"<p>Serri, a small agro-pastoral center on the borders of Sarcidano, in the south of Sardinia, rises on a basaltic plateau, the homonymous Giara, at a height of about 650 m.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the Authentic Villages of Italy, Serri preserves in its\u00a0area important\u00a0proofs of ancient\u00a0populations\u00a0who have crossed or lived in these lands: starting from the Nuragic period, passing through the Roman period and for the following ages, which make the small town of Sarcidano almost an open-air museum.<\/p>\n<p>In the inhabited center you can visit churches and historic buildings, which rise in the oldest part, characterized by the presence of typical rural houses, with large courtyards and arched gates.<br \/>\nThe main expression is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-borghi.com\/en\/what-to-see\/serri-nuragic-sanctuary-of-santa-vittoria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Nuragic Federal Sanctuary of Santa Vittoria<\/strong><\/a>, but the various <em>nuraghi<\/em> located in the\u00a0area and the remains of the Roman statio of Biora are also worthy of particular attention.<\/p>\n<p>Among the streets of the historic center, in a suggestive rural atmosphere, one can still admire the ancient crafts.<br \/>\nSometimes, the housewives, respecting the old recipes and using wood-fired ovens, prepare the bread (<em>cocois and civraxu<\/em>), the pasta (<em>fr\u00e9gula and pitzotis<\/em>), the desserts (<em>amarettus and pardulas<\/em>) and much more, both for daily use, which on the occasion of folk festivals, using traditional ingredients.
