The toponym originates from the local dialect, the Bergamo dialect. In fact, the term Corna indicates a rock, so the meaning would be of a country built on the rock.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Corna Imagna is a small mountain village located at the foot of Mount Resegone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":312703,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"the-village":"<p>The village of Corna Imagna (San Sim\u00f9 or Corna Imagna in dialect bergamasco) is placed at the foot of Monte Resegone. He has always maintained the characteristics of the small mountain village, with its inhabitants for the most dedicated to live what nature gave them. Consequently the main activities have always been those of the shepherd, breeder, woodsman and del Carbonaio, i.e. the one who transformed wood charcoal. The toponym finds its origin in the local dialect, dialect bergamasco, indicating a rock, for whose meaning would be country built on the rock. The origins of the country should still go back to the medieval period when the territory, until then sparsely populated, saw an increase in housing due to the struggles between Guelphs and Ghibellines.<\/p>\n<p>The church dedicated to Saints Simon and Guide Taddeo, was built in the course of the sixteenth century when the parish is autonomous yields from neighboring countries. This however was totally rebuilt in 1927 on a project by the architect Giulio Paleni. In it are preserved works coming from the old building of worship: among these there are paintings and frescoes of good quality, among which that of Chizzoletti.<\/p>\n<p>Other buildings worthy of mention are the church of San Domenico, located in the locality of Canito, and the building called C\u00e0 Berizzi. The latter was built in a panoramic position from the homonymous family in the course of the XVIII century, and also includes environments used to carry out agricultural activities, as well as a small church.
