Merlot Venezia Giulia IGT 2022<\/strong> is an elegant, terroir-driven red wine that embodies all the pleasantness and smoothness typical of the Merlot grape grown in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Produced by the Borgo delle Och<\/strong><\/a>e Winery, it is the result of careful vinification that enhances the aromatic profile of the grapes whilst preserving their freshness, balance and finesse.<\/p>\n

The result is an enveloping and harmonious red, characterised by fruity aromas, soft tannins and a pleasant lingering finish that makes it extremely versatile at the table.<\/p>\n

Vinification and Ageing<\/h3>\n

The grapes are crushed and destemmed before undergoing cold pre-fermentation maceration in stainless steel for approximately 5 days. This technique allows for the gentle extraction of aromas and colouring compounds, whilst preserving the integrity of the fruit.<\/p>\n

This is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation, with the pomace left in contact with the must for a further 10 days and agitated exclusively through gentle pumping over.<\/p>\n

The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation and 6 months of ageing<\/strong> in stainless steel<\/strong>, keeping the varietal freshness of the Merlot intact.<\/p>\n

Tasting Notes<\/h3>\n

Visually, it presents an intense ruby red<\/strong> colour, enhanced by violet hues.<\/p>\n

On the nose, fragrant aromas of cherry, raspberry and ripe red berries emerge, accompanied by elegant floral nuances.<\/p>\n

On the palate, it is soft and enveloping, with sweet tannins perfectly integrated into the structure. The palate is balanced, fresh and persistent, with a pleasant finish.<\/p>\n
