{"id":387159,"date":"2026-07-09T12:14:32","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T10:14:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.e-borghi.com\/en\/events\/\/"},"modified":"2026-07-09T12:19:02","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T10:19:02","slug":"feast-of-saint-sebastian","status":"publish","type":"eb_event","link":"https:\/\/www.e-borghi.com\/en\/events\/ferla-it\/feast-of-saint-sebastian\/","title":{"rendered":"Feast of Saint Sebastian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From 16 to 20 July 2026, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-borghi.com\/en\/village\/ferla\/\"><strong>Ferla,<\/strong><\/a> in the heart of the Iblei Mountains and the <strong>Noto Valley<\/strong> \u2013 recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site \u2013 celebrates the <strong>Feast of Saint Sebastian<\/strong>, one of the religious festivals most cherished by the local community and one of the most significant events of the summer in Syracuse.<\/p>\n<p>The event combines faith, tradition and community participation through a rich programme of religious celebrations, pilgrimages, artistic illuminations and social gatherings involving the entire village.<\/p>\n<p>The celebrations begin on 16 July, on the <strong>Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel<\/strong>, with Holy Masses in the <strong>Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel<\/strong> and the switching on of the spectacular artistic illuminations that will light up the town\u2019s streets.<\/p>\n<p>From 17 to 19 July, the preparatory Triduum takes place in the Basilica of San Sebastiano, featuring the Holy Rosary and Eucharistic celebrations.
