Even today, it is grown by a handful of custodian farmers who passionately preserve its seeds and the production techniques handed down through the generations.

The event, which is free to enter, will take place from 10.00 to 18.00 and will offer a day entirely dedicated to celebrating this gastronomic gem and local produce.

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to explore the market featuring producers of the Drubiaglio White Onion, buy the product directly from them and gain an insight into the farms that safeguard this tradition. Alongside the local producers, there will also be Slow Food Presidia, Maestri del Gusto and numerous businesses from the Susa Valley showcasing local specialities.

The star of the show will, of course, be the food, with stalls dedicated to traditional onion-based dishes, street food offerings, tastings and engaging cookery demonstrations, during which chefs will show how to make the most of this prized ingredient through traditional recipes and contemporary interpretations.

The Welcome Tour will also return for the 2026 edition, organised in collaboration with Turismo Torino e Provincia. This guided tour will allow participants to explore the history of the Cipolla Bionda, the Avigliana area and the culinary and wine specialities of the Val di Susa.

Part of the international Terra Madre Off circuit, promoted by Slow Food, ‘La Bionda in Tavola’ represents much more than a simple food festival: it is an event dedicated to the protection of biodiversity, the promotion of local agricultural produce and the spread of the culture of good, clean and fair food.

The event also offers the ideal opportunity to visit Avigliana and the Susa Valley in autumn, taking in the picturesque Avigliana Lakes, the Sacra di San Michele and the valley’s many historic villages, making for a day that perfectly combines nature, culture and the authentic flavours of Piedmont.

On 27 September 2026, ‘La Bionda in Tavola’ returns to Avigliana: a market, tastings, cookery demonstrations and the Drubiaglio White Onion, a Slow Food Presidium from the Val di Susa.

[165264
49585
165164
post-386535","eb_event","type-eb_event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","territorio-susa-valley","village-conntection-avigliana","event_category-food-festivals
["GET
