Its origins date back to the 17th century and it remains one of the most eagerly awaited events of the summer on Lake Como, combining religious tradition, historical re-enactments, entertainment and folklore within a unique scenic setting.<\/p>\n<p>The event takes place between the village of <strong>Ossuccio<\/strong> and<strong> Isola Comacina<\/strong>, one of the most picturesque spots on Lake Como. Here, amidst sparkling waters, ancient historical sites and breathtaking views, the local community revives a tradition that recounts key episodes in the history of the Lake Como and Lombardy regions.<\/p>\n<p>The event will kick off on Saturday 27 June with the traditional evening of food and dancing organised at Ossuccio\u2019s municipal park in collaboration with the Tremezzina Tourist Association. From 7.00 pm, visitors and residents alike will be able to sample local specialities and enjoy an evening of conviviality and music.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the evening will take place at 10.30 pm with the famous musical fireworks display commemorating the burning of Isola Comacina. The traditional \u201cZoca de l\u2019Oli\u201d will light up once again, transforming the lake into an extraordinary spectacle of lights, colours and atmosphere. Fireworks, light effects and music will accompany the re-enactment of one of the most significant historical events linked to the island, offering the public a unique spectacle considered one of the most thrilling on Lake Como.<\/p>\n<p>The celebrations will continue on Sunday 28 June with the religious part of the event. At 9.30 am, the solemn procession towards Isola Comacina will set off from the parish church in the hamlet of Isola, in Ossuccio. Participants will reach the island by motorboat, departing from Campo di Lenno, using the free service provided for the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>At 11.00 am, Holy Mass will be celebrated in the archaeological area of the Basilica of Sant\u2019Eufemia and the Church of San Giovanni Battista, one of the most significant sites in the entire region from a historical and religious perspective.
