Four days of meetings, workshops, art and entertainment set against the picturesque backdrop of the Itria Valley, in a setting that combines nature, archaeology and community engagement.

Conceived and organised by the Fuoriluogo APS association, Sherocco is much more than a cultural festival. It is a space for exchange and growth that promotes dialogue, freedom of expression and the overcoming of stereotypes and discrimination linked to sexual orientation and gender identity. Over the years, it has become a national benchmark thanks to the quality of its cultural offerings and the support of major institutions, including the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Ostuni.

At the heart of the event is the large Rainbow Village, an open and inclusive space where people from diverse backgrounds can meet, share ideas and build new relationships. In a welcoming and participatory atmosphere, the festival offers a multidisciplinary programme involving artists, activists, academics, performers and professionals from across Italy and abroad.

One of the defining features of the 2026 edition will be the Summer School dedicated to gender studies and transfeminist perspectives, an educational programme offering opportunities for in-depth study, discussion and reflection on issues relating to rights, citizenship, the representation of bodies and contemporary social transformations.

Alongside the educational activities, the programme will include theatre performances, concerts, artistic performances, exhibitions, screenings, creative workshops and public meetings. The visual arts, music and the performing arts will become tools for storytelling and discussion, helping to create a rich and participatory cultural experience.

Sherocco also devotes significant attention to the younger generation, promoting educational programmes and cultural initiatives designed to foster awareness, dialogue and inclusion. In line with European Union guidelines, the festival aims to combat all forms of discrimination through culture, valuing diversity as a resource and an opportunity for collective growth.

The stunning setting of Santa Maria d’Agnano Park makes the experience all the more evocative. Amidst ancient olive trees, the landscapes of the Itria Valley and archaeological finds of extraordinary value, the public can enjoy four days dedicated to connection, creativity and participation.

The Sherocco Festival thus reaffirms its status as one of the most innovative and significant cultural events on the Italian scene, a place where art, rights and community come together to imagine a more open, inclusive and aware society.

The Sherocco Festival returns to Ostuni from 2 to 5 July 2026: performances, music, a summer school, workshops and talks dedicated to LGBTQIA+ cultures in the heart of the Itria Valley.

[165085
50900
165174
post-385805","eb_event","type-eb_event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","territorio-valle-ditria-2","village-conntection-ostuni-it","event_category-culture
["GET
