The costumes, crafted with meticulous attention to detail, evoke the era of the Gonzagas and transport the audience back to the atmosphere of an ancient Renaissance festival.<\/p>\n<p>At the heart of the event is the Palio, a competition between the districts vying for victory through contests and games inspired by historical tradition.
