An unmissable event blending flavour, tradition and history, set in the picturesque Piazza Castello.<\/p>\n<p>This event has its roots in a long agricultural and historical tradition dating back as far as the 15th century, when \u2013 according to legend \u2013 following the famous Chess Match of 1454, cherry trees were planted throughout the region as a symbol of peace and prosperity. Even today, this link between history and nature lives on in the festival and local culture.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, visitors can taste and purchase the finest varieties of cherries, the stars of the historic provincial exhibition that recognises the best producers and the various cultivars.
