Gardone Riviera

Gardone Riviera is a Brescia village located on the western shore of Lake Garda, at the beginning of the Riviera dei Limoni. One of the largest Italian lakes, surrounded by beautiful moraine hills and, in the northern part, by majestic mountain ranges. Renowned resort, Gardone Riviera is known for the Vittoriale degli Italiani, the monumental citadel home of the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio, now home to a prestigious museum.

The village is small, but retains beautiful and elegant structures and monuments of great value, which take up the harmony of the shapes and colors of the landscape of Lake Garda, as if they had always been there. Surely, among the things to visit there is the Church of San Nicola, which stands right in the Piazzale del Vittoriale, and the beautiful Villa Alba. The latter, baptized with the name of "Villa Ruhland", the literal translation of which is "Peace in the landscape", takes up the true essence of these places. A structure that is nothing short of spectacular, reminiscent of the most characteristic monuments of the Athenian acropolis.
In the 70s it was purchased by the Municipality of Gardone Riviera, which transformed this wonderful Villa into a place of art and culture: perfect location for exhibitions, art exhibitions and cultural events of all kinds. Do not miss the Hruska Botanical Garden, now Andrè Heller Foundation, with hundreds of plant species from the five continents and visible on a path that winds through rocks and ponds.
