Valsinni is a romantic medieval village suspended between sea and mountains with the Castle behind it, on Mount Coppolo, inside the Pollino National Park, the largest protected area in Italy.
Valsinni is considered the capital of the first southern literary park, dedicated to Isabella Morra, slain by her brothers for her poetic and loving correspondence with Diego Sandoval, Spanish baron of nearby Bollita, the current Nova Siri.

The old part of the village is narrow around the castle and is very suggestive also because it is not accessible to cars.
It consists of centuries-old dwellings placed side by side and separated by narrow streets that climb up the sides of the rocky spur on which the town is built.
Since there are often unevennesses of some meters within the same house, many houses have a Gafio, that is a passage covered in stone that passes under a dwelling, between two streets.

In the alleys around the castle it is possible, every summer, thanks to minstrels and storytellers, the popular traditions of the medieval village while the itineraries called "sentimental journeys" and "Morrian places" recall Isabella's verses and emotions.
