Framua, in the local dialect, is a scattered municipality italiano of little more than 600 inhabitants. Is located in the Ligurian Riviera, just a short distance from the famous Cinque Terre and a few kilometers from the splendid Portofino, between the municipality of Deiva Marina in the west and that of Bonassola east.
Already home to a pagus in roman times, since the Longobard era the territory was a possession of the abbey of San Colombano di Bobbio. A prehistoric castle on Monte Vigo, five fractions on a coast of vertical rocks, holm oaks, pine woods and vineyards, old marble quarries, cliffs, small pebbly beaches.
The originality of the inhabited area of Framura, consists in its characteristic geographical layout: Framura in fact is the collective name of 5 small fractions of which it is composed the Municipality, which extend from the sea toward the inside, along a steep stairway that connects them. Starting from the lido meets Anzo, fraction characterized by a guard tower genovese of the XV century and the Neogothic chapel of Our Lady of the snow. Just below the village of Anzo there is the Railway station of Framura. Between the station and the overview Punta dei Marmi is located the marina of the country.
The second fraction is Ravecca, whose buildings denote a clear medieval setting, and where continuing meets the Chapel of the SS. Bernardo and Easter. The seat of the municipality of Framura is located in sect, protected by another watchtower Genovese, also of the XV century. The fraction of the coast is the town that has the artistic features most relevant: there you can admire in fact a Carolingian tower of extraordinary strength dating back to the IX century, as well as the Parish Church of San Martino that jealously guards even a painting of the famous Genoese painter Bernardo Strozzi. At the end of his visit to Framura you reaches Castagnola, where worthy of note is the parish church of San Lorenzo, in which is kept the painting "Deposition" by Luca Cambiaso, famous painter of the XVI century born in Moneglia and who became famous for his paintings to the Escorial of Madrid.
