Experience two small southern towns in the company of a local guide. Starting in the morning, we will visit Morano Calabro, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, within the Pollino National Park, through a route that begins at the panoramic Norman-Swabian Castle, where you can admire the Pollino mountain range and the wide valley of the Coscile River, the ancient Sybaris. A visit will continue to the Naturalistic Museum of “The Kite,” carved out of the old houses around the castle itself, followed by the 11th-century Church of St. Peter and Paul. We will walk down the characteristic alleys of the village toward the Church-Museum si Santa Maria Maddalena embellished by the splendid Polyptych by Bartolomeo Vivarini and, at the conclusion of the morning tour, we will visit the 16th-century Church and Monastery of San Bernardino In the afternoon we will move to the village of Civita of “arbereshe” origin and especially culture. Starting from the small and central square, we will visit the very rich Ethnic Museum where we will learn about Albanian culture and traditions. The visit will continue in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta of Latin origin but furnished and enriched with beautiful icons for the liturgy with the Greek-Byzantine rite in the Albanian language. This will be followed by a look at the characteristic chimneys with peculiar and curious shapes, the “Kodra” houses, and, to conclude, we will arrive at the Devil’s Bridge Belvedere, suspended over the Raganello stream with a last glimpse of the Plain and the Gulf of Sibari.
