the 'F. Bigazzi' Russian Icons Museum of Peccioli was inaugurated in 2000 and has its headquarters in the ancient Palazzo Pretorio of the village, a building the plant for which dates back to the medieval era, altered between the XVIII and the XIX century. On the facade of the palace there are 19 coats of arms belonging to the nobles and the Podestà that here exercised their power. The journalist Francesco Bigazzi, for many years corresponding from Moscow, donated to the Municipality of Peccioli his collection of sixty Russian icons made in the course of the nineteenth century and the early years of the next century.
