The Cardoso-Carrara Villa, situated at the Caproni di Castelvecchio, near the village of Barga, in 1895 was chosen as a residence by the poet Giovanni Pascoli. In this place the poet spent the most peaceful years of its existence, from 1895 to 1912, the year of his death and where they saw the light works as Myricae (1903), the first Poemetti (1897), the Canti di Castelvecchio (1903), i Poemi Conviviali (1904), or the innovative works of poetry of pastures.
