The Cantina del Macchiatello, located in the historic center, which is like a little labyrinth (be careful not to get lost, the winery is behind Palazzo Della Bella), offers a bouquet of ancient vine varieties including the native Uva della Macchia: the wine is the Macchiatello and you cannot miss it because it is one of the "real" wines of the Gargano. When every village on the promontory had its own wine, this was the one from Vico. Only 1500 bottles a year are produced, which are the result of the agronomic history of this area. A particular bouquet, with almost a taste of earth and wild, which engages the enological research, aimed at preserving these vines. The winery with its wine tells the ancient winemaking history of the Gargano promontory, a treasure chest of plant and agricultural biodiversity. The wine produced contains the traditional vines (twenty different vines), at risk of extinction, six of which have proved to be autochthonous.
