Share

A small house near the church of San Giovanni, which dates back to the XIX century, which inspired Giovanni Verga for the history of willingly. The architectural structure is typically Sicilian of the half of the nineteenth century, with the courtyard, a small garden and the inlet characterized by an arc in lava stone to all sixth.

The inside is divided into two rooms: the first, called La terra trema, collects photographs, posters and various testimonies of the homonymous movie masterpiece of Luchino Visconti, he just shot at Aci Trezza, in 1947, with a cast of actors chosen entirely among the inhabitants of the small seafaring village. The second, the Malavoglia's room, hosts the testimonies of the world of fishermen trezzoti of the half of the nineteenth century, with a collection of antique instruments of work and household items of daily life. Interesting photos taken personally by Giovanni Verga and collection of letters to his brother Peter.
