The winery that has made the Vernaccia of San Gimignano great

Panizzi produces Vernaccia di San Gimignano from 1989. Is a company of innovators always: first, thanks to the meeting between Giovanni Panizzi and his friend Salvatore Maule, winemaker, Panizzi has revolutionized the way to think and to produce the Vernaccia, under the banner of quality and reliability. Today, under the guidance of Simone Niccolai, the winery carries on the marriage between quality and research, offering excellent vintages year after year and, going against the current, produces wines of the highest level, even the atypical ones in Tuscany.

Quality and research, therefore: this is demonstrated by the fact that the Vernaccia di San Gimignano Panizzi (Reserve, vintage 1998) was the first to receive the 3 glasses of wine in Italy of the Gambero Rosso, bringing this wine to the attention of the press, and opening the way to become one of the most beloved of Italy and was recognized as among the best in the world. With great pride Panizzi is therefore a true ambassador of the Vernaccia grape quality. That’s not all: this extraordinary winery also produces large red, rosé, Passito, and a large extra-virgin olive oil.

Strong of its 75 hectares of vineyards and olive groves and of 200,000 bottles produced per year, Panizzi distributes its products everywhere in the world, from Italy to Oceania, accompanied by the unmistakable label that is now the emblem of its products.

Walk in the vineyards and taste the products Panizzi means grasp the essence of how he lives, works and grows a company of real excellence. But there is more: immersed in the green of the vineyards and woodlands of the hill to the west of San Gimignano, less than five minutes from the historic center, stands Villa Santa Margherita, which dates back to 1600 and takes its name from the first vineyard Panizzi. Accommodate means to complete the experience, enjoy the Tuscan countryside more pure and have an outpost ideal for visiting Siena, Florence and follow the itineraries of historical interest of Chianti.
