Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino is an association made up of more than 340 members present on the provincial territory: organizations and production companies, but also hoteliers and restaurateurs, united by the common intent of promoting the territory and its food and wine excellences, telling the surprising variety through vacation proposals, taste experiences, events and themed initiatives organized in a constant and continuous way throughout the year.
The products to be discovered, told by the members of the association, range from extra virgin olive oil to cheeses, from cold cuts to trout, from fruit to vegetables in combination with grappa and the excellent wines of the territory such as Trentodoc, Nosiola and Vino Santo, Müller Thurgau, Marzemino and Teroldego Rotaliano.
Also restaurateurs, driven by the desire to offer their guests characteristic menus, as well as agritourisms and those who dedicate their activity to the sale of autochthonous products on the shelves of their stores, will compete with each other.
The Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino is an ideal route, a collection of excellent products, a world of pleasures for the palate. In this fascinating territory, which changes from a Mediterranean environment to a typical alpine landscape, besides the appetizing gastronomic productions, there are also the excellences of the local enology.
Among all of them, Trentodoc stands out, an extraordinary classic method, refined and majestic, the real pride of Trentino. In Valle dei Laghi since time immemorial is cultivated Nosiola which, with the withering, is transformed into the extraordinary Vino Santo. The area is also known for the numerous companies that here, as in the whole province, distil the precious Trentino grappa. The Piana Rotaliana produces the autochthonous Teroldego Rotaliano, an intense red wine full of nuances, while the Val di Cembra is the land of the fragrant Müller Thurgau. Between Rovereto and Vallagarina stands out Marzemino, a grape which gives its best here.
From wine to food the path is compulsory. Cheeses include Spressa DOP delle Giudicarie, Vezzena and Nostrano del Baldo, as well as small mountain dairy products. The salami and cold pork meats are based on ancient recipes and are now unique products: Lucanica trentina, Ciuìga del Banale, Carne Salada and Carne Fumada. For those who prefer vegetables, there are the organic products of Val di Gresta, the broccoli of Torbole, a Slow Food presidium, or in spring the asparagus of Zambana, to be dressed with extra virgin olive oil DOP Garda Trentino, in combination with the traditional cornmeal Spin of Valsugana and corn nostrano of Storo. Finally, there are also delicious freshwater products, such as trout and char, and of course apples, one of the most recognized symbols of our land.
These excellences are the result not only of an extraordinary environment, but also of the attention and love of those who work in it, in which different types of production and operations alternate, recounted and exalted by numerous initiatives that the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori organizes throughout the year, such as Gemme di Gusto, a real hymn to spring where the operators allow their guests to know the awakening of nature, or DiVin Ottobre, a rich calendar of events where the protagonists are all the members of the Road in every weekend of the month, but also all the enogastronomical reviews dedicated to testimonial wines which take place from March to December in the whole territory of the association.
But the world of Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino can also be discovered thanks to Travels and Taste Experiences, vacation proposals of more than one day or just half a day specifically studied according to the needs, tastes and interests of the guest, which are created during the whole year and bring the guest to discover the territory of Trentino and its enogastronomical enchantments. These proposals see the union of enogastronomy, history, nature and sports and are very appreciated by guests for their "craftsmanship", which makes them unique.
In addition to these packages there are also a 3 or 5 days wine tour, a 6 days enogastronomical tour and a 3 days tour entitled "Alembicchi e Castelli" (Alembic and Castles), where the visit of the most evocative manors of Trentino is matched with original grappa tastings, also at table. And, for the most "eco-friendly", there is also "Vacanze verde... di gusto", in which the trip is designed with "green" means of transport, lunches and dinners at environmentally friendly restaurants, low emission menus and visits to organic wineries. Packages that are tailored to the needs of guests to ensure a truly unique and memorable experience.
