The distillery is situated in Glorenza in the upper Val Venosta, in the middle of the Alps near the Ortler group. It is right there, in the "Highlands of Italy" that the best conditions have been created to produce an higher quality whisky. Outside the mighty walls of Glorenza there is the PUNI distillery, the first and only whisky distillery in Italy. Guided tours, tastings and retail sales are often organised. For the more curious, it will be very interesting to explore the entire production area and discover how the first Italian whisky is made. The unique flavour of the first Italian Malt Whisky is obtained by using 3 different types of malt. Barley-, Wheat- and Rye Malt is stored in separate silos inside the building and are mixed following our specific recipe. All of our rye is grown locally by farmers in the Val Venosta. One of the wheat fields is located at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level.
