What to see in Cembra, Trento, Trentino-South Tyrol

Share

Visible from the Loc. San Rocco, they are located about 6 km from Cembra but are a naturalistic attraction not to be missed for those visiting the village.
It is a natural phenomenon that originated in the Quaternary with the melting of the glaciers which deposited in the valley of the Rio Regnana an enormous quantity of morainic material mixed with large porphyry boulders. Over the centuries, atmospheric agents began an erosion process that led to the formation of pinnacles up to 25 meters high, protected by a porphyry boulder as a hat.
Weather permitting, the area can be visited all year round through a path equipped with descriptive tables. The excursion takes about two hours of walking (AR) and is not suitable for strollers and prams. During the summer a small entrance ticket is established (which is not paid with Trentino Guest Card) as a contribution for the maintenance of the path. At the beginning of the route, at the Info lodge, there is a multimedia totem accessible by smartphone that offers a series of news and stories on the phenomenon.
Nearby the ruins of the Castle of Segonzano, painted by Duerer in 1494 and, three centuries later, destroyed by the Napoleonic troops in a historic battiglia and the splendid Church of the Immaculate Conception of Piazzo. Do not miss a walk along the Avisio stream with final wine tasting at the Baroni winery in Prato.
