Geological Museum of the Dolomites

What to see in Predazzo, Trento, Trentino-South Tyrol

In Predazzo, the Geological Museum specialized in the Dolomites as well as a separate branch of the "MUSE" in Trento, and in particular on the Fiemme and Fassa Valleys, proposes to enhance and promote the knowledge at various levels of the peculiar geological heritage-mineralogical of the area.

The collections consist of rocks, minerals and fossils; particularly significant is the collection of fossils of animals and plants of average age-triassica (12,000 specimens), coming from the valleys of Fiemme and Fassa.

The Museum also has a library (about 7000 items) specialized on the geology of the Dolomites and on fossils of the Triassic period and a consultancy service on geological themes and classification of minerals, rocks and fossils. Both services are accessible on appointment.

Opening times: from Tuesday to Sunday: 10-12.30 and 16-19.
Open every first sunday of the month free admission.
