Guido Gozzano's Villa Meleto

What to see in Agliè, Torino, Piedmont

Share

To get there starting from Piazza Castello, along Via Principe Tommaso and Via Principe Amedeo you arrive at the outskirts of the town, turn right and take Via Meleto. The villa as it appears today is the result of an embellishment that the poet brought to it in 1904, fascinated by the French liberty. Also visit the small romantic garden and the driveway flanked by the famous apple orchard from which the property took its name. The little house near the small lake and the villa Meleto di Agliè where he used to stop, write and nurture his own nymphs, the poet Guido Gozzano (1883-1916).
