MaM - Archaeological Museum of Monteriggioni

What to see in Monteriggioni, Siena, Tuscany

MaM, the Monteriggioni Archaeological Museum, is located in the restored monumental complex of Abbadia Isola, one of the cultural centers of excellence in the local area. This "indoor-outdoor" museum aims to tell the story of the abbey through explanatory panels and open-air features. Its two exhibition sections, "The Wine Cellar" and "Sigeric Hall," offer visitors a journey back in time, from protohistory to the Middle Ages, through reconstructions, models, multimedia tools, historical artifacts and specific information panels on the history of the Monteriggion area.

Constantly evolving, the MaM provides for the periodic enrichment of exhibits, as well as offering ongoing educational activities and promoting territorial research. The facility is positioned as a dynamic cultural hub, with always new discoveries and acquisitions planned, designed to stimulate visitors' interest and learning about Monteriggioni's rich history.
