What to see in Venosa, Potenza, Basilicata


the archaeological area of Notarchirico contains remains of large animals such as elephants, buffalo and rhinoceros. In human traces was discovered a femur of adult female of the species Homo Erectus. Moreover, it was also found a stratigraphic sequence composed of more than eleven levels referable to the Lower Paleolithic period.
