In the main square of the Castle is the Church of Santa Croce, a small Romanesque church probably built between the 12th and 13th centuries. The side chapels, the sacristy and the bell tower were added to the original plan over time. The building has undergone numerous restorations, the last of which have brought to light portions of frescoes with figures of saints and a marble sarcophagus dating back to the third century AD reused as an altar.
