Fortress

What to see in Castrocaro Terme, Forli Cesena, Emilia-Romagna

To guard the ancient village and the modern town, the medieval Fortress of Castrocaro rises imposingly and majestically, a rare example of fortified composite architecture, unique in its kind, by type and size, is composed of three distinct architectural and defensive works: the Girone, the Rocca and the Medici Arsenals.
In the Palazzo del Castellano, inside the Rocca, the Historical-Archaeological Museum is set up, with weapons, majolica, paintings, furniture, furnishings, documents and archaeological finds that tell the millennial history of the Fortress through the three periods of domination of the castle and the city.
