Fort of Gavi

The Fort of Gavi, stands on a natural fortress overlooking the ancient village of Gavi and today it is used as a museum. Inside the fortress held periodically historical commemorations in costume, cycles of conferences, debates and exhibitions photographic and painting.

It was realized by incorporating a pre-existing castle erected, according to the legend, at the time of the occupations of the saracens and ungare by Princess Gavia (or Gavina) that in that locality had established his residence. The first document which attests the existence dates back to 973.
