It is Global Winner at the Best of Wine Tourism International Award 2020 for accommodation Villa Quaranta Tommasi Wine Hotel & SPA, historic home of the Tommasi family, at the gates of Valpolicella Classica.
Yesterday evening in Bordeaux, France, the Best of Wine Tourism International Awards, the international competition that rewards excellence in world wine tourism, were presented to the regional winners elected in June, the authorities of the Chamber of Commerce of Bordeaux and Verona and the Consuls of the countries involved,
"We are very honored to receive this coveted award, which rewards the foresight of an investment made by our parents in 1992. - says Michela Tommasi - Since then our family has been working to spread in Italy and around the world the knowledge of a unique territory like Verona and Valpolicella Classica and its values, not only through wine production, but also by expanding the offer with hospitality, which has always been in our DNA. Tommasi today represents Italian excellence in more than 70 countries around the world and we are proud to have had this opportunity to bring it once again to international prominence".
The award confirms the innovation and excellence in wine tourism of Villa Quaranta Tommasi Wine Hotel & SPA worldwide within the networked project of the Great Wine Capitals, the network created between ten capital cities of world wine excellence (from Bilbao to Adelaide, passing through Bordeaux, the Napa Valley, Chile and Argentina), for which Verona represents Italy.
The competition rewards facilities that are characterized by the quality of their wine tourism services within different categories, ranging from cultural and artistic, wine tourism services to accommodation and catering.
"A few months ago we were the winners in Verona in the hospitality category and we therefore entered the global competition with the other 9 winners from the other 9 cities. - director Luca Carrara continues - A heartfelt thank you goes to the whole Tommasi family for their continued courage in investing to improve the Villa Quaranta product allowing us to compete and win with the best wine tourism realities in the world. Needless to say, all the investments in the world would not be needed without a first class staff and I'm proud to say that I manage a nice group of professionals who are passionate about their work".
"The welcome of a family, the services of a large hotel, the eclecticism of a structure that has grown and evolved over the years - continues Barbara Tommasi - and the teamwork of all the staff, reward a path of which we are very proud. Hospitality is a fundamental and strategic part of the overall framework of Tommasi Family Estates. Not only the wine, but also all the experiences and emotions that come with it, from sharing at the table to wellness offers or meetings in a unique and exclusive set to meet the needs of consumers".
In all the locations of Tommasi's hospitality, from Villa Quaranta at Albergo Mazzanti in the centre of Verona and the nearby Caffè Dante Bistrot, to the Poggio al Tufo farmhouse in the Tuscan Maremma, and last but not least the welcome at the winery, in the historic headquarters of Pedemonte, where everything has been renovated, it is possible to enjoy unique experiences in authentic places characterized by the identity of a family, which has been transmitting the values of craftsmanship and quality for four generations.
The Best of Wine Tourism International Award confirms the success of the road taken and is a source of great motivation for further projects including the forthcoming renovation of Villa De Buris.
Villa Quaranta is part of the strategic and corporate context for the Tommasi family, who want to promote the excellence of a terroir such as Valpolicella Classica, which draws its great wealth and beauty from the wine, the hills planted with vines and the natural and architectural beauty. A set of factors, which the Tommasi family carries on with vivacity and enthusiasm in all the declinations of wine, especially wine tourism and hospitality.
