Awarded with the Umberto Agnelli Prize the Japanese TV show about Italian villages

It is called "Tale of Wonderful Villages", the TV show made by Kazuhiro Taguchi in 2007, which brought to japanese viewers our small medieval towns, hidden excellences of our country and less known tourist destinations.

After the creator's disappearance, the program continues to live thanks to its producer and president of Telecomstaff, Takayuki Terashima, who was awarded the "Umberto Agnelli Prize for Journalism" 2017 for having introduced to Japan a less known Italy, rich in history, tradition and secrets.

The award was handed over by the President of the Fondazione Italia Giappone, Ambassador Umberto Vattani, during the 29th session of the Japan Japan Business Group, which took place in Kanazawa, under the co-chairmanship of the Italian Engineer Mauro Moretti.

At its sixteenth edition, the prize is titled Umberto Agnelli to remind us of his far-sighted entrepreneurial figure and passion for Japan. Agnelli was promoter of the Fondazione Italia Giappone, of the Italian Japan Business Group, and also International Advisor - together with Helmut Schmidt, Edward Heath and David Rockefeller - of the Imperial Praemiun.

"Tale of wonderful villages", at a time like this when far-sighted tourism has been facilitated through the Internet, low-cost flights and the emergence of small hotel realities, has brought 260 villages to the Japanese public by introducing a country and a civilization through highly suggestive itineraries. The small Italian hamlets represent an alternative tourism, rich in tranquility and meditation (highly valued in Japan) but also of artistic, historical, cultural, human and food and wine testimonies. It is therefore more than deserved the Umberto Agnelli Prize at Takayuki Terashima to let know and love small villages to an evolved public like Japan.

The show is broadcasted by BS NTV (Nippon Television) on Saturday night at 6pm for 45 minutes, during which the Japanese viewers can imagine themselves along our alleys, on the palaces of our castles, in our small shops... appreciating the magic and fascination of our villages.
