The excellences of the Emilian territory meet at the millennial Castle of Tabiano, in the province of Parma, for the first edition of "Flowers, knowledge, flavors - Traditional products and excellence", an event that today Saturday 6 and tomorrow Sunday 7 April, from 10 am at 7 pm, he brings together the best producers of the local tradition, including nursery gardeners, expert creators of specialty food and quality craftsmanship. An exhibition that was born under the patronage of the Municipality of Salsomaggiore and Fidenza, in collaboration with the Emilia Romagna Region and the Italian Association of Historic Dwellings and Castles of the Duchy, and that develops as a preview of the celebrations of Parma Italian Capital of Culture 2020.
In the area dedicated to food, in the ancient cellars of the castle, visitors can taste the excellence of the territory and be intrigued by the proposals of local producers: among the participants, the nineteenth-century Prosciuttificio San Pietro, Cabriolatte di Fidenza and the famous acetaia Rossi Barattini , and many others to taste these and other delicacies, from Parmesan to Culatello, from Strolghino to other fine salamis. Among the protagonists there will also be Michelin-starred chef Massimo Spigaroli, ambassador of Italian cuisine and owner with his brother Luciano from Antica Corte Pallavicina, home of the oldest culatello maturing cellars in the world. During the event Maurizio Morini, chef of the "Antico Caseificio" restaurant in the village of Tabiano will also perform with the students of the Hotel School of Salsomaggiore to offer tastings of local recipes. Again, the patissier chef Claudio Gatti will currently make the desserts of the ancient Via Francigena.
With the same admission ticket (cost 10 euros) it will also be possible to visit the Terme Berzieri of Salsomaggiore, a unique Liberty masterpiece in Europe. The municipality of Salsomaggiore, in fact, will provide a shuttle to connect the Tabiano Castle and the Baths. On the two days of the event there is also the possibility of exploring the Castle of Tabiano. Among the most important defensive monuments of the feudal age in Alta Emilia, in its thousand years of history, Tabiano has experienced splendours and abandonments, wars, sieges, tragedies, crimes. The favorite fortress of Uberto the Great Pallavicino, it hosted legendary characters such as Rolando il Magnifico, Solestella da Bardi and Isabella Pallavicino, known as the Angel of Tabiano, the cruel Delfino and Nicolò poisoned in a conspiracy. At the end of the 19th century the fortress became a private residence, which from 2016 is open to guided tours, events, ceremonies and cultural events.
