Fiemme Valley, a three-day "bestial" will overwhelm Predazzo

From September 29 to October 1, 2023, big celebration for the queens of the pastures. It will be a Desmontegada de le Vache among menus and tastings capable of expressing the excellence of the valley, the scents of the forest and the taste of the Autunno a Tavola festival. Also expected along the streets of the center is the OktoBarFest.

A Taste Festival, a farmers' market, a Taste Train, an OktoBarFest, the menus of Autunno in Tavola, the sustainable mobility exhibition and more... show cooking, honey and local product tastings, aperitifs and concerts. For children a Dolomite Nanna and many workshops: drawing insects, approaching the world of bees, cheese making, wool jewelry and environmental art. All this in Predazzo, from September 29 to October 1, 2023, with the Desmontegada de le Vache.

Celebrating the grand parade of herds returning to the stables after months spent on the high altitude pastures will be a major three-day event organized by the Municipality of Predazzo, in collaboration with APT Fiemme e Cembra, Transdolomites Association and Strada dei Formaggi delle Dolomiti.

Particularly rich is the program of the three-day event, which will open in the afternoon of Friday, September 29, under the banner of the little ones, to then get into full swing with the OktoBarFest, which will transform for the entire weekend the bars and streets of the center of Predazzo - closed to traffic for the occasion - into one big Bavarian-style party. So children will still be the protagonists, with the Nanna Dolomitica proposed by the Geological Museum of the Dolomites among games, stories, and readings while waiting to go to sleep.

On Saturday, September 30, the protagonist will be the cuisine of excellence: the Festival of Taste will be the highlight of the day, starting at 10 a.m., with food stands, workshops and farmers' market; of particular note is the tasting "Mountain honey: taste earns us" at the stand of the Fiemme, Fassa, Cembra Beekeepers' Association and the "Workshop for small cheesemakers" thanks to the collaboration of the Caseificio Sociale Predazzo and Moena and the Dolomites Cheese Route. And again speaking of cheeses, the Taste Train will take visitors to discover the Puzzone di Moena DOP supply chain: from milking to tasting the finished product. In between, show cooking led by expert chefs who will exploit the many products of the area (beginning at 11:30 a.m.) and many workshops for the little ones with Silvia Canello, while waiting for the MusicAutunno concert, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sunday, October 1, will then be the day of Desmontegada de le Vache. The protagonists of the festival will parade at 11 a.m., amid two wings of crowds. Also on the catwalk will be very young farmers who will proudly display their farm animals, from chickens and rabbits to llamas and alpacas.

Horse-drawn wagons, festively decked out cows and farmers in typical costumes will parade to the Octagon party tent (next to the pool and miniature golf course), where a typical Alpini Group lunch will be enjoyed while listening to the cheerful music of the Spritz Band.

Throughout the day, the Festival of Taste will continue as much as the appointments dedicated to children with Silvia Canello, and there will be a free visit to the Geological Museum of the Dolomites in Predazzo.

The many flavors and fragrances of Desmontegada de le Vache can be savored from September 29 to October 8 thanks to the ninth edition of the Autunno a Tavola food and wine festival, which will honor the Puzzone di Moena DOP cheese from the Predazzo and Moena Social Dairy, among seasonal vegetables and fruits. Offering Desmontegada-themed menus will be the restaurants and agritourisms of the club Tradizione & Gusto di Fiemme e Cembra and the Strada dei Formaggi delle Dolomiti.

Another cornerstone of Desmontegada de le Vache is the focus on sustainable mobility: from Thursday, Sept. 28, until Sunday, Oct. 1, from 4 to 9 p.m., the Sala Rosa of the Predazzo Town Hall will host an exhibition dedicated to the historical memory of the Former Fiemme Valley Ora-Predazzo Railway Line, an exhibition by the Transdolomites Association set up in collaboration with the Gruppo Fotoamatori Predazzo.
