An entire week of events to end the summer in the alpine pastures in the best possible way: Predazzo and the entire Val di Fiemme are preparing to fully experience the excitement of the Festival del Gusto that will accompany towards the pomp and circumstance parade that on Sunday, October 2, will feature cows decked out in festive decorations in the streets of the center with the Desmontegada de le Vache.

There are many new features related to the 2022 edition of the Festival del Gusto, which will come in a richer, longer-lasting form with sustainability as its basic philosophy.

The 2022 edition of the Festival del Gusto is designed to give an even more comprehensive connotation to the concept of "taste," also understood as the value and pleasure of travel, territory, and knowledge. A broader conception that translates into cultural and informative events, with young people often the protagonists.

These will be days of great intensity opened by the Festival of Taste proposed by the Municipality of Predazzo in collaboration with the APT Val di Fiemme, Piné Cembra and the Transdolomites Association. A Taste Festival that will experience its opening moment on Monday, September 26, with the possibility of spending a day on the historic Renon train, the only narrow-gauge route remaining in the region that connects SopraBolzano to Collalbo. An outing that harks back to the railway history of Val di Fiemme and the Ora - Predazzo route that is the subject of a widespread exhibition that will soon be enriched precisely in Predazzo by a historic carriage under restoration that Transdolomites wanted to donate to the community.
Double-tied to railway history will be the route of the Taste Train, which on Saturday, October 1, from 4 p.m. will first stop at the barn where the emotions of the Desmotegada eve can be experienced and then reach the cozy Bistrò of the Social Dairy of Predazzo and Moena for a cheese-tasting designed for the occasion together.

Instead, it will be up to the young students from the area's High Schools to be the protagonists on Thursday, September 29, in the Council Chamber of the Predazzo Town Hall for an in-depth discussion in which they will recount their experiences or paths of study matured on the themes of environmental sustainability. These include those from the Euregio Summer Camp and Eusalp Working Group who stayed in Predazzo for a few days last summer.

Approaching moments that will lead toward the festive atmosphere of the weekend with Friday afternoon transforming the center of Predazzo - closed to traffic - into the stage of the OktoBarFest with aperitifs, appetizers, traditional dishes, tasty desserts and beer in full Bavarian style. In the evening, starting at 9 p.m., the Predazzo Cinema Theater will be the setting for the MusicAutumn festival with a concert by I Luf.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Taste Festival booths will open their doors from the morning with the novelty of the collaboration of the Fiemme Fassa Cembra Beekeepers Association, which thus joins historical partners such as the Dolomites Cheese Route, the Cembrani DOC Consortium and the Caseificio Sociale di Predazzo e Moena, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Associations that will offer throughout the weekend in Piazza SS. Filippo e Giacomo various workshops and tasting moments, as in the case of the unmissable pairings of Miel and Formai (Saturday, from 11 a.m.) or the pleasure of learning the secrets of homemade butter (Good as Butter, Saturday at 3 p.m.). And again, also on Saturday afternoon while the Taste Train will complete its route you can go to discover the Magical World of Bees (4:15 pm) before the Show Cooking that from 5:30 pm will involve the chefs of Val di Fiemme ready to prepare unforgettable dishes with Zero Kilometer products of the territory.

On Sunday, the anticipation for the arrival of the cows will be accompanied by the LanaLab workshop (at 10 a.m.) where children will be grappling with felted wool to make small precious natural jewelry while for the occasion the Geological Museum of the Dolomites will offer free access to the facility for the entire day.

In the meantime, operations will begin for the parade of the hundreds of cows, which at 11 a.m. from Predazzo's sports center will travel along Via Lagorai to the center and reach the party tent at the Ottagono, next to the municipal swimming pool.
It will be a particularly heartfelt moment for the entire community and for all the farmers of Val di Fiemme, who will be able to return to greet the return of the cattle to the barn, once again decked out in festive garb, for a parade truly in grand style.

With the arrival of the cows, the time will open at the Ottagono tent for the typical lunch organized by the Alpine Group of Predazzo with aperitifs, tastings and all the gastronomic specialties of the area and the music of the Spritz Band. At 3 p.m. then the Association of Beekeepers Fiemme Fassa Cembra based on the judgment of the popular jury will decree the winning honey of the competition "Honeys of the Avisio Valleys": to vote will be all those present who will have the opportunity to taste scents and flavors of the different honeys at the stand on Saturday (10am-5pm) and Sunday (10am-12:30pm) and then fill out the corresponding evaluation form.

The Taste Festival and Desmontegada de le Vache are part of "Autunno in tavola" (Sept. 29-Oct. 9), the eighth edition of the gastronomic festival inspired by the flavors of autumn, the scents of the forest, the essences of nature, and the Km 0 products from Val di Fiemme and Trentino. The protagonist of the chefs' delicious recipes, celebrating 30 years of the Caseificio Sociale di Predazzo e Moena, is the Gradevole di Predazzo cheese, soft, melt-in-the-mouth with aromas of milk and mountain butter, along with autumn vegetables and fruits.
