World Wellness Weekend: from 17 to 19 September 2021 Val di Fiemme is an international wellness destination

Walks along the UNESCO landscapes between the sound of a horn, a dance of thanksgiving to the sun, essences of the forest and flowery aperitifs. Kneipp paths in the stream, regenerating hay workshops, stargazing and moments dedicated to the care of horses, cows, goats and sheep.

These are some of the moments of wellness organized by the Azienda per il Turismo Val di Fiemme from September 17 to 19, 2021, on the occasion of the World Wellness Weekend.

The international weekend opens with the inaugural convention organized by local companies at the headquarters of the company that creates wellness ecosystems and has accompanied Val di Fiemme in this circuit: Starpool in Ziano di Fiemme.

During the WWW the Namasté festival comes to life to meditate in nature. And on Sunday, September 19, the joy of the day of solidarity and eco-sustainability Fiemme senz'Auto, where car traffic gives way to two wheels, quality of life and altruism.

Fiemme is the first territory to participate in the World Wellness Weekend (WWW), an international event that takes place simultaneously in more than 120 countries around the world on the third weekend of September, just before the Equinox, the period symbolizing the balance between day and night.
This international network promotes wellness as a way of life. It is both a physical and mental wellness: a balance between body and soul that draws energy also from altruism and eco-sustainability. The goal of the 2021 edition is to transform the WWW into a true worldwide movement for wellness.

The 5 pillars of wellness for the World Wellness Weekend are: rest and creativity, nutrition and immunity, movement and vitality, mindfulness and serenity, motivation and solidarity.

Val di Fiemme was chosen as the destination of the WWW because it is located between the UNESCO Dolomites and two natural parks (Paneveggio-Pale di S. Martino and Monte Corno), for its welcoming characteristics, for the many activities of regeneration in nature and for the immense breath of its forests of fir and larch. Its 60 million trees are capable of capturing 2 million tons of CO2, as demonstrated by the FSC certification obtained by the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, which has been managing forests and pastures since 1111, generating positive impacts on ecosystem services.

Moreover, Fiemme is known as the Valley of Harmony. In fact, its 9 municipalities are embraced by the famous "Violin Forests", where the trees of music grow. These are the resonant spruces once favored by Stradivari and today by luthiers from all over the world.

This appeared to be the ideal valley to re-establish a harmonious contact with nature. From spring to autumn, Fiemme is an immense open-air spa that invites you to regenerate through 70 guided experiences that put you back in motion by exploring, observing and meditating.

Making it the ideal place as a land of social wellbeing are the almost 300 volunteer associations active in the valley and promoters of sports activities and solidarity actions. Fiemme's restaurants and hotels also participate in the WWW, offering genuine, zero-mile menus and moments of well-being.

The first to adopt principles of eco-sustainability in Val di Fiemme are the local companies, such as Starpool, a company of international reference in the design and construction of wellness centers, such as Fiemme 3000, a company of bio-compatible flooring treated only with essential oils to breathe the essences of the forest even at home, such as the Felicetti pasta factory, which kneads its pasta with spring water and dries it in the pure air of the Dolomites, as well as offering one of the most genuine and tasty lines of Monograno pasta, or such as La Sportiva, world leader in the production of climbing shoes and high mountain boots, which minimizes the environmental impact of its products by regularly publishing a sustainability report.

It is also pleasing to know that 160,000 pianos created with Fiemme spruce are playing in the world, thanks to the Ciresa company in Tesero which makes soundboards for musical instruments.

Val di Fiemme is also in the front line to win the great challenge of these years: producing clean energy. Its municipalities have made an effort to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy sources. For example, in Cavalese 80% of the town is heated by biomass from wood waste in the Bioenergia Fiemme district heating plant. Sawdust is used to produce FiemmePellet, a zero-km fuel sold locally. Finally, from the branches of the "magnificent" firs an essential oil is obtained, used in cosmetics and in the wellness sector.

Val di Fiemme is not satisfied with being a giant green lung, but invests in new technologies for the development of the energy chain.

In addition to Cavalese, the towns of Predazzo, Bellamonte, Carano, Tesero and Ziano have also made innovative "green" choices. A sort of "renewable energy district" has been created in the valley.

That's not all! Fiemme is among the first in the ranking of virtuous municipalities in terms of differentiated waste collection.

In September, for three days, Val di Fiemme reveals its profound nature. In this land, wellness is not an hour to be carved out of the hectic daily schedule, but a lifestyle that respects nature and draws inspiration from its rhythms, colors and scents.

World Wellness Weekend Program

• Friday, September 17
  5:00 p.m. Inaugural convention of the World Wellness weekend in Val di Fiemme organized by local companies at Casa Starpool in Ziano di Fiemme.
  5:30 p.m. Late afternoon walk to Capanna Cervino. At the hut dance to thank the sun and talk by a professional dancer. Flower aperitif with flowers and Fiemme cheeses. Return with frontal lights.

• Saturday 18th September
  early morning: One hour walk and sunrise on the white horn with sound of a horn to awaken the sun. Energising hot drink for the morning at the summit with alpine herb cookies.
  9.30 a.m.The benefits of barefoot walking and the Anterivo Kneipp course. Fresh, refreshing drinks provided by Capriana's farmers and Anterivo's own coffee cakes.
  4:00 pm Workshop and experience: Regenerating hay and health herbs for creams and herbal teas.
  9:00 pm After dinner. Walk to the observatory in Tesero. Evening of stars and return always on foot, in silence, breathing the forest at night.

• Sunday 19th September
  early morning: One hour walk and sunrise on the white horn with the sound of a horn waking up the sun. Energising hot drink for the morning at the summit with alpine herb flavoured cookies.
  10.00 am At Paneveggio with Matilde. A walk with someone who has chosen and continues to choose to live in a small mountain village, amidst essences dispersed in the air and listening to nature.
