The feast is dedicated to a depiction of the Madonna as protectress of sailors - the Star of the sea - a mosaic found in the church of San Nicolò of Capodimonte, and which dates back to 400. In the morning the cannon shot announces the departure of Dragun, which leads the priest at the altar of Stella Maris located on Punta Chiappa; the Dragun is followed by the boats of the spectators impavesate for the occasion.
