The Church is draped in mourning and the Madonna, with her heart pierced by a dagger cries on the corpse of the Son. The statue of the Madonna has the real hair, votive gift of a woman of the village. Also her veil, always black, is a gift of a woman verolana. The ex voto more picturesque can be seen in the chapel of the Madonna of Olivella, situated in the lower part of Veroli, in the homonymous district.
