During the Mass on Holy Saturday, at the church of San Michele Arcangelo, as soon as the priest intones the hymn of glory (at about midnight) opens the central door of the church (lights, seen that the first part of Mass is in the dark) and from the bottom begins the stroke of 5 “bearers” holding the statue of the Madonna and directing it toward L’altar where then lay the statue. The traditional rite wants to represent and allows the public living and participation of the faithful in the joy of Mary that festive runs toward her Risen Son. L’event in its representation is very exciting and many are the faithful who are even from afar. it's difficult indeed to remain indifferent to the Madonna that, taken in arms, appears to run on the heads of the people who are standing between the benches waving his heavenly mantle. At the arrival on the altar, runs pushed from the heart a thunderous applause that frees the joy of the Resurrection of Christ. Legend has it that there are committed good carriers since the fall of the statue is considered bad omen for the country.
