The torchlight procession
saturday 30 december 2023 in Santa Fiora, Grosseto
A sort of early New Year involving the local population and numerous visitors, gathered in Piazza Garibaldi until late at night, to witness the magic purifying fire, which has its roots in the Middle Ages. The flames, bearers of hope and a good future, dance free in the dark, defeating the winter and bringing warmth. The coal miners thus positioned are gradually consumed in an extraordinary itinerary that accompanies the visitor to discover a vibrant country, between music, food and fun.
