Festival of Bruschetta and Red Garlic of Proceno

The Sagra della Bruschetta e dell'Aglio Rosso (Festival of Bruschetta and Red Garlic) was born out of a desire to explore the role of food and wine events in the cultural, tourist, religious and economic growth of the area. This is an area steeped in history and tradition, where typical food products play a strong role. They are also recognised at national level and reflect a healthy and safe way of life, in stark contrast to the ever-increasing feeling of food insecurity caused by the opening up of markets and physical and non-physical borders between various countries and crops.
Food therefore takes on a new role, becoming the vector of a culture and values linked to the territory to which it belongs: tasting an excellent typical dish is the best way to come into contact with the territory, to learn about its historical and artistic heritage and to understand its traditions. Typical dishes thus become the main protagonists in the splendid Proceno square, with food stands, exhibitions, cultural and recreational events, and lots of music and dancing usually accompanying this festival.
